General Information

Booking

Upon confirmation of booking one of our apartments, 50% of the total booking fee is automatically taken from the payment card supplied.  The remainder of the balance is required on arrival.  If invalid payment card details are supplied, the guest will be alerted and given 24hrs to provide an alternative method of payment, without which the booking will be automatically cancelled.  Your booking can be cancelled up to 28 days before arrival. Any payments taken will be refunded. After 28 days the total price of your booking will be charged.

Plese note that any credit card transactions are subject to a 2.5% transaction fee. Debit cards are not subject to this transaction fee.

Linen & Towels

Linen and Towels can be provided for all apartments upon request. This is provided at a nominal amount of £5 per person in addition to accommodation costs. Guests should advise prior to arrival if they require linen and towels, if no advice is received we will add the charge to your bill and supply linen & towels. If guests do not require linen and towels, and wish to bring their own, an inspection by our Housekeeping team will be made upon guest arrival to ensure that adequate bed coverage has been arranged and that guests are comfortable. In order to help with keeping our planet green, the replacement of fresh linen or towels is not provided for guests staying in holiday apartments unless requested and subject to a £5 fee per person.

Parking

Parking in Edinburgh is extremely difficult to find and expensive within the city centre. Only 3 out of our entire range of holiday apartments have bookable parking and these spaces must be pre-booked and are subject to a rate of £10 per night. There is un-restricted parking available close to our apartments – please refer to the Edinburgh City Council website to see where the restricted parking zones end:

Please note that guests parking their vehicles do so at their own risk and we accept no responsibility for any loss or damage.

Cancellation Policy

Your booking can be cancelled up to 28 days before arrival. Any payments taken will be refunded. After 28 days the total price of your booking will be charged.

If you decide to leave earlier than your given check out date than unfortunately we cannot refund you for the days you have booked.

Edinburgh Holiday Accommodation reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time if they are uncomfortable about intentions of the guests who have booked the accommodation. Edinburgh Holiday Accommodation reserves the right to withhold all payments at this point.

Security Deposit

Please note that a Security Deposit is required before we can give you the key safe code to your apartment. Upon your arrival, please come to our Guesthouse at 14 Granville Terrace, EH10 4PQ to pay the security deposit via chip and pin. The security deposit required is 50% of your total booking. Once the apartment has been checked providing nothing is damaged, we will refund the security deposit back onto the card and this can take up to 10 business days to return to your account (however some banks may vary).

Charges to the security deposit will only be made in the event of apartments not being left by guests as required as per Check Out requirements and our Terms & Conditions, loss or damage to the apartment, rubbish and empties being left in the apartment or disturbance reported by any neighbours. PLEASE NOTE that if fire extinguishers are found to have been released without due reason by guests during their stay, a penalty of £175 per fire extinguisher will be AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED from your security deposit. Please also note that guests who smoke in the apartment will also be charged £200.

Reception

Due to being a family-run business and not a Hotel, we do not offer a 24hr Reception. Therefore, we may not always be available on the premises in person. Reception is open from 8am until 8pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm at weekends.

Fully No-Smoking Policy

On 26 March 2006 the law on smoking in Scotland changed. Smoking is no longer allowed in enclosed public places. Failure to comply with the law is now a criminal offence and individuals will receive a fixed penalty of £200 for smoking in a no-smoking premises. This will be automatically deducted from your security deposit.

Check In / Check Out

Check in is available from 16:00 hrs on the day of arrival. Subject to availability, we can provide up to 2 hours early check in for £20 per hour, which must be agreed prior to guest arrival.

Checkout is 10.00 am. Subject to availability, we can provide up to 2 hours late checkout for £20 per hour, which must be agreed prior to guest arrival. A requirement of more than 2 hours late checkout will be charged as the full rate for the following night.

PLEASE NOTE that the apartment must be left clean, ALL RUBBISH REMOVED and placed outwith the apartment in the BLACK communal waste bins provided on the main street (no waste bags to be left in the communal stair areas). Failure to comply will result in a fixed penalty of £50 which will be AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED from your security deposit.

General Notes

Because there are no refunds available if a cancellation is necessary, travel insurance is essential when making a reservation.

We assume that prior to booking all guests have read the Terms & Conditions thoroughly.

Please note any transgressions to the above rules or damage caused by guests will be liable to financial penalties at the owner’s discretion. We reserve the right to cancel any stay or booking found to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions, or behaving in an anti-social manner, which upsets other guests and staff

The Fine Print

  • Please note that there is no lift at the property.
  • Meals are not included in your booking, however you are welcome to use the communal kitchen.
  • This is a strictly non smoking property and smoking is also not allowed within 100 meters of the property. Failure to comply will result in a fixed penalty of £200 for smoking in a non-smoking premises and area.
  • Payment of your booking - 25% is due on booking and the remaining amount within 7 days of arrival.
  • Minimum booking period for Edinburgh Napier Homestay is 16 weeks.
